– Having nearly forty years working in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
– Graduated in Applied Mathematics from Hanoi University of Technology (1978); Master of Science (1984) and Doctor (1987) in Artificial Intelligence from University of Paris 6, and Habilitation à Diriger de Recherche (1998) from University Paris 9, France.
– Having worked at the Institute of Information Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (1979-1993) where he was an Associate Professor in 1991. He was Visiting Associate Professor in 1993 and Professor in 1998 at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) in Japan. From 4.2018 he is Professor Emeritus of JAIST, the Director of Data Science Lab at Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and Director of John von Neumann Institute of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
